Kawasaki Ninja
|
Named for the legendary Japanese martial artists that employed non-traditional methods to achieve their client's goals, the Kawasaki Ninja series of super-sport and sport-touring motorcycles was first brought to market with the now legendary, GPZ900R, in 1986. Today, Kawasaki's Ninja line continues to break all the rules of power and performance with displacements ranging from the surprisingly quick and agile 250R to the most powerful production bike on the market: the massive, “hyper-sport” ZX14R whose speed is governed to a mere 185mph (300kph). Today, the Ninja-series continues to be a top-seller among sport-bike enthusiasts of all levels.

It is astonishing to many that a bike designed to run so hot (with several models that don't hit the red line until more than 11,000 RPM) can be so very reliable. Indeed, a large majority of the parts sought by Ninja owners are consumables like brakes and tires, customizing or cosmetic items. Because of this, the Kawasaki Ninjas in perfect working order are very often found for sale by owners who are looking to purchase another (usually larger) Ninja model.

Like many other popular and long-lived products by Kawasaki, Ninja parts are relatively easy to find when using powerful resources like motoyard.com and others. Though the sport models don't lend themselves to customization as readily as a touring model, there are plenty of mods and kits that can be used to adjust the ride and performance of the Kawasaki Ninja to your liking. Over 20 years after the first one was produced, there is no end in sight for Kawasaki's Ninja line of sport bikes, for professional racers and weekend riders alike.
