BMW is a German manufacturer of refined motorcycles. BMW produced its first motorcycle in 1923, and since then has become a very successful motorcycle manufacturer. BMW is the creator of the now-legendary flat twin cylinder motorcycle engine known as the “boxer” engine. BMW currently produces a full range of motorcycles including the K series motorcycles (BMW K1200S), the R series motorcycles (BMW R1200GS and R1200RT) and the F series motorcycles, (BMW F650GS and BMW F800). Most law enforcement agencies worldwide currently use the BMW R1100RT-P, BMW R1150RT-P, and BMW R1200RT-P models series motorcycles. BMW owns patents on some innovative motorcycle technologies, such as the Paralever, Telelever, and Duolever technologies.
